Vegetarian Restaurant Review
November 22, 2019
My biggest trouble used to be finding vegetarian friendly places for me and my family to eat at. Now, there are so many new restaurants in The Woodlands that offer more than just meat options. Here are a list of my favorites and opinions from students.
Flower Child
(346) 268-7101
With a menu that is 75% vegan or vegetarian-friendly food, this restaurant is perfect for animal lovers. From breakfast to dinner, Flower Child offers a wide range of vegan and vegetarian meals including my favorite, their Thai Dye wrap and their Mother Earth bowl. And with such an open and stylish decor, live plants, and large open windows, this restaurant makes you feel comfortable and satisfied.
“I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the food was also really good,” senior Dani Smith said. “It’s healthy which makes me feel like I’m really achieving something.”
True Food Kitchen
(281) 364-7222
The new idea of a beet burger has been spread across many restaurants, but none compare to the Unbeetable Burger at True Food. With two vegetarian burgers and an endless list of soups, salads, and appetizers that are vegetarian, this is the place to go.
“Well, I liked the whole vegan aspect of it,” junior Adam Murphy said. “It was a welcoming atmosphere, and the food was really good, especially the chopped salad that was made to perfection.”
Callie’s Kitchen
Even though it is not a popular restaurant yet, Callie’s Kitchen is definitely one to go to. Callie’s Kitchen gives a vacation feel with its home-turned-into-business cabin structure and its hundreds of light fixtures. A couple of must-haves are Callie’s Gluten-Free Pesto Pasta Salad and Healthy Mediterranean Taco. Starting out, Callie created her restaurant to share nutritional and whole organic food to everyone in her community. And starting next year her entire restaurant will only consist of plant-based foods.
“I love Callie’s Kitchen because of the welcoming atmosphere,” senior Lauren Lacson said. “They have so many different options of food for everyone, and the quality and service is like no other.”
MOD Pizza
(281) 503-1560
MOD Pizza, unlike most pizza places, offers lots of vegetarian and even vegan options for pizza. Styled like an assembly line, you get to choose everything on your pizza. With vegan cheese and several vegetable toppings, you can stack up and not have to worry about meat options.
“What I like about MOD Pizza is that it is fast and pretty good,” junior Sebastian Saenz said. “And since MOD allows you to choose your toppings, they accommodate pretty well for vegetarians.”
Olive Garden
(281) 363-1288
Soups, salads, and breadsticks! Olive Garden offers so many vegetarian options including its amazing types of pasta with a ‘create your own pasta’ option and its famous house salad everyone loves. With amazing service and amazing food, Olive Garden will not disappoint.
“I love Olive Garden, they never disappoint,” junior Bobbi Bazzle said. “I feel like they can pride themselves with consistency, not only with the food but the customer service. Although I’m not a vegetarian, Olive Garden offers a wide variety of options that are vegetarian based, from the salad to the very large soup options and even some of the pastas they offer! I feel as though Olive Garden is a well-rounded restaurant that caters to all preferences.”
Herb & Beet
(832) 663-9671
Herb & Beet is filled with veggie lover’s plates. My personal favorite the Health Nut salad is the perfect meal for vegetarians with its assortments of veggies and fruits. Since they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you can enjoy Herb & Beet all day long.
“I myself am not a vegetarian, but I would recommend Herb & Beet to those who are,” junior Sergey Silivia said. “I love the Mac n’ Cheese and their Texas Onion Soup, and I go there every once and a while just for it.”
