On January 14th, the team dominated their UIL Cheer Competition at the Fort Worth Convention Center. With more than 20 talented teams competing for both the state and district titles, the cheer squad fought to ensure their top-10 spot. The Varsity cheerleaders guided and encouraged the underclassmen during the process, and maintained their determination in spite of the incredible performances from their competitors. Screaming their “Go Big Blue” chant and tumbling impressively across the floor, the team amazed both the judges and spectators: for the first time in College Park’s history, the team won first in the district and eighth in the state of Texas, making it their best record to date.

Although the team is ecstatic that they made their mark at Fort Worth, they know that they can go even harder next spring. The senior cheerleaders are confident that the incoming freshman class will work even harder to uphold the top-three spot in the state.
