Every year College Park hosts a cheer clinic for younger children to experience cheerleading. The clinic is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd from 9 to 11:30 am. College Park cheerleaders teach younger kids their cheers and have them perform with them during the first quarter of one of the football games.

“We love to teach them cheers. Our annual clinic is an event we all look forward to,” junior Cheerleader Abby Tartaglia said.

The Clinic is hosted for students from kindergarten to 6th grade, and they will have parent showoffs at the end of their clinic. The registration fee is $45 and a shirt will be given out to those who register before Sept. 22nd.

The youth not only get an opportunity to be able to learn cheers, introducing them to cheerleading, but they also get a chance to build strong relationships with College Park cheerleaders, who they may one day cheer with.

“When they first check in, they take a picture with some of the cheerleaders in uniform and we print it out for them to take home,” junior cheerleader Gia Purser said.
